This project is the rehabilitation of an old abandonned building in the town center of Montpellier. I carried out the project with the agency ARCHIZ, and at the time i aided in the creation of visuals and plans for the project. The idea was to break down all the internal walls so as to create an open space.

This project was particularly complicated as the left facade of the building was falling apart so the intervention of a structural engineer specialised in old classified buildings was essential to deal with the problem. Various Beams were used to re-attach the existing facade to the interior structural walls.

All the existing dividing walls were destroyed leaving a totally open plan. The aim was to create a fluid space transitioning from room to room. Kitchen, dining room and finally the bedrooms.

An overall warmth was chosen for the colour scheme. Oak floorboards, warm greys, light cool bleus and original ceramic tiling was chosen for the interior design.
